Florida Keys - Mardi Gras

Thinking about heading to Florida Keys during Mardi Gras.
I'm open to Key West but also open to some type of adult-only resort on one of the other Keys. Probably won't fish but looking to scuba, kayak the mangos, etc.
Suggestions?

Going with kids or no?
If no kids, Bungalows Key Largo is fantastic

I would imagine that Duval Street would be pretty lively during Mardi Gras.

We stayed at tranquility bay in marathon which was a very nice and chill island. Forget the name of the mangrove kayaking outfit but the tour on that island was great and the beach you start and end at is one of the best beaches in the keys. It’s an easy day trip to key west. The sea turtle sanctuary is on marathon and big pine island to see the key deer is close.
