Taking my younger boys to float for the first time... I've floated several rivers but not the Guadalupe. They love the water and being outdoors. Any suggestions on which service to use? Any tips of advice going with kids(other than obvious -sunscreen, hats, snacks, ext)? TIA

Comal is more family friendly. Spring-fed so it's always cool and full.

we went last saturday and used Gruene River Company. Everyone was very friendly and no complaints. The water in the Guadalupe has been extremely low though. There are many parts where you have to paddle with hands or get out of your tube and walk. Hopefully the rains this week will improve water levels. Some had suggested floating the Comal to us as well since it is usually full of water, however there is a can ban the City of New Braunfels, so we didnt want to float through the town. If you plan to drink/eat on the Comal, everything must be in reusuable containers

Floated it a few years ago and loved it. Just a short float. Wanted to try a longer all day(ish) float. If the Guadalupe is too bony, might be going back. Anyone know anything about san Marcos float?

San Marcos is my kids favorite.

I floated the Comal a few weeks ago. The water levels were a little low, I guess. They had a trash ban on the river. So it was tough to bring drinks. Had use Yeti cups and canteens.

We do the Comal all the time. Rent a spot at the RV park for the day and take the bus back to the start several times. We have done 5 round trips in a day. Gives you a chance to chill, have lunch and a few beers. Police are aggressive. Play by their rules...

Just got back from a few days in the area, I took my family on the Comal. TEXAS Tubes was the outfit we used and they where on top of things. No waiting for pickups and you drop right in the Comal from there location.
Just be sure you have the right type of containers for food and drinks for floating the Comal.
We also did a night time paddle boarding on the San Marcos that everyone really enjoyed.
