Flight out of MSy in AM. Arrival time ?

Flying out around 6 AM and was hoping airport isn’t too busy then Thinking I could get there around 5. How busy is TSA, etc early Sat mornings?

TSA hasn't taken me more than 20 minutes for any flight this year. I've been arriving at the airport an hour before my flight but I also do not check bags.

The line at MSY moves quickly.
I live in Kenner and usually leave my house an hour before my flight and still get to the gate before boarding.
If I'm hungry I'll leave an hour and a half early but still not wowed by food like in other airports.

I usually get to the airport an hour and a half before my flight. I have pre check and usually don’t check a bag.
That being said, the last two times I flew out of MSY, I parked in short term parking and the time it took me to get from the the car to the gate was less than 15 minutes. Probably closer to 10 minutes than 15.

Ended up taking 45 to get thru security. Made it 5 min before closing gate. Maybe a little too tight.

Yikes. Most credit cards will pay for TSA pre-check. And you get pre-check free if you get Global Entry. Totally worth it.

Same experience. Short term parking through TSA pre check line to gate is a 10-15 minute process. Best part of the new airport by far.
