Who has been and can offer suggestions? Looking for resort suggestions and things to do. Open to any of these locations. I’d like an over water bungalow. Planning to go around Thanksgiving ‘23.

It's been a long time but I have done all three. On Fiji we did a Blue Lagoon Cruise which was a great experience. Back then the Yasawa Islands were more remote.

On Bora Bora we did a jeep ride up to the top of the mountain which was the old WWII spying post. The view from up there is unbelievable.

On Moorea we did a hike up to a waterfall which was fun. On both islands in French Polynesia we stayed in beachside bungalows. The overwater seems cooler in theory than it is in reality.

Day 1:
San Fran to Tahiti
Got screened @ Tahiti airport. Temp & paperwork.
Hotel Sarah Nui for 1 night
Short cab ride from airport. $22.50
Checked in, unpacked. Hotel was OK. Had AC, but very sketchy.
Walked to street food vendors about 4 blocks away. A few homeless encounters.
Ate a poke bowl and fries. Had a couple Hinanos. Local Tahitian beers.
Noticed a cruise ship was docked a couple blocks away at wharf. Walked over for crepe. Chocolate & banana.
Bed by 11pm.

Day 2:
Woke up to nice pacific sunrise view from window.
Left for water ferry (Aremiti) to Moorea. $30each person, round trip?
A little confusing to find right enter point at wharf but asked around.
:45 min ride. Lots of locals.
Rented a car at Avis. $125/day. Stick shift Peugeot.
Stopped at local grocery about 2 min from Avis/ferry drop off and looked around for rations. Lots to be had but wanted to explore.
Stopped and got the Mrs a flower crown and street vendor across from little grocery.
Kept driving another :20 to VRBO.
Found it easy and checked in. Nice gal, Caroline. Had great pool and room waiting. Served breakfast: 1 slice of cheese, ham and some cut up baguettes. Very got changed and hit the ride to explore. The roads were nice to drive on, even had bike lanes.
Stopped at Tipaniers. It’s a touristy beach point you can’t see from road, only sign. The water was gorgeous. There was a big touristy thing to do, go to lunch at coco beach, but we opted out as we we’re not gave reservations available. We ate lunch, a thatian poke salad and fries. Got a Juice & cokes to mix with our rum. Food was amazing.
Went back to VRBO and swam in pool and laid out. We launch the house kayak provided for us. Paddled out but a little windy to get to reel. Water was still nice. Clear and blue.
Showered and changed for dinner. Got in car and watched sunset on Public boat launch with a couple beers. lots of locals hanging out.
Went to le lizard jaune cafe. Opened at 6:30pm so we walked in.
They said they were busy with reservations but could seat us immediately.
I ordered a daiquiri and she ordered a rose.
We split poke salad and local special, cooked fish.
Went home after.

Day3:
Woke up at VRBO. Breakfast again. Eggs and baguette. Fresh juice. Very good.
Bent back to beach club area and rented paddle board and kayak. Paddles around for 2 hours looking at reefs and small coco island. Very fun. Saw some rays and cool reef fish. Water was very clear and beautiful.
Drove to & stopped at public beach. lots of sail boats. Stopped and got a coconut and some grape fruit chips from street vendor.
Left and drove around island and stopped at Moorea beach club for lunch. Overpriced food. Didn’t even have a beach. Lol
Left lunch and went to meet the ATV tour guide at shop. There were two other girls joining. Got a side-by-side in parking lot and was instructed to follow guide to start of tour. We drive on main road for :10 and turned off on small road.
1st stop-Went up in hills to pineapple groves. Super cool. Told us history of farming pineapples on island.
2nd stop-went to top of mountain where you can see both Moorea bays. Paved roads all the way up but kind of steep. Good views.
3rd stop- left mtn and drove down to river. Driver told us he was going to feed the fresh water eel. Took out a can of mackerel and punched a few holes in it. Took them a minute but they came swimming up stream to find scent. Must of been 10 of them. All averaged 2.5’ long. Pretty cool.
4th stop- left river and took a longer drive up to a taller mountain, magic mountain. This was a super steep drive. All the roads were public until this one. It’s private but only costs a couple bucks for someone to come up and visit. The views were amazing.
We left magic mountain and noticed we had another hour left in tour. He said we can go sample some local jelly and jams at the foot of the mtn. We stopped at small hut and a guy came out with samples of fruit spreads to taste. The Mrs purchased a jar of honey something or another. We took off and headed toward the local wine distiller. This was our choice since we got through the tour early and would want to pass up some possible free booze.
We drive back Toward the ATV tour pick up and turned down a dirt road. More stray dogs. Made a turn and noticed a huge facility. Parked ATV’s and went in. Our tour guide knew everyone of course. Got to sample all the dessert wines

Super cool spot. Picked up a couple nick-nack gifts there as well. Dropped off the ATV just down the street and we were done. Picked up some take-away food from see you later cafe(?), a nice cooked fish special and something else. We opened a nice bottle of wine when we got back to the VRBO and sat by the pool and ate and drank. The mosquitos came out so we walked back to the bedroom, showered, packed and crashed. Had to wake up early to start our next leg.

Day 4:
Woke up at 5:30am, still on Central daylight time. The host made us a nice breakfast with homemade yogurt and more baguette and fruit. We are our last breakfast by the pool and watched the sun come up one last time in Moorea. It was nice but we were ready to get moving.
Drove into town to drop the car off at Avis and realized we should probably grab a few things from cheap grocery to bring to Bora Bora with us. Picked up almonds, peanut butter, granola, pistachios, pretzels and a couple more beers. We still had a bottle of vodka and champagne from the Duty free we’ve been lugging around.
Dropped off car and hoped on ferry back to Tahiti. Mostly out of towners this round. Just about 75 people I imagine. Hailed a cab and went to airport. Had about an hour to kill so drank a beer at airport bar.
Went thru security and boarded another air Tahiti flight to bora bora.
The views were amazing from the flight. Landed in BOra bora in about :35 minutes. The runway is on an outlying island and resort and city shuttles are there to greet you and bring you to your respective destination. We were staying at le meridian and were escorted to / super nice shuttle boat with one other couple and were on our way. The water was the bluest I’ve ever seen. You know you are in paradise.
the boat dropped us off at the dock and were greeted by live music and and traditional costumes. The brought us to the front desk where we checked in and then got the tour.
Got dropped off at our over water bungalow shortly after. Amazing.
Unpacked and then hit the beach with some rum drinks. Walked around the island and found a coconut and shucked it on a piece of coral. Brought it back for drinks

We ordered a poke bowl from the beach bar and ate it on the beach and went back to the bungalow and jumped in the water and floated for a while with drinks.
Walked down to the other restaurant bar then ordered a veggie pizza for dinner. Walked back to room and crashed.

Day:5 Wednesday
Woke up got espresso from main grounds. Swam in pool. Saw a wedding on beach. Walked and saw the turtles in the turtle pool. Took taxi to town at 6pm and went to dinner at la villa manhanna. Super fancy, super off the map. Expensive but cool experience.

I think that’s about it, I have more info if needed. Wonderful experience
