Booked Excellence Playa Mujeres for Labor Day week at the end of July. 3 days after booking I realized my passport had expired in March. I know, I’m an idiot.

Shipped my passport and renewal paperwork overnight with expedited fee on July 31st. Was marked received and check cashed on August 5th. Got to 2 weeks within travel so I booked an in person appointment for this week in Dallas that was supposed to be tomorrow. Got the email yesterday that is was approved and deliver via next day air. Was delivered this morning just over 4 weeks from me sending it.

Dumb mistake ended up working out in the end. There is hope for anyone hoping for a somewhat quick turn around.

Anyone in Louisiana should contact Sen. Kennedy’s office. They have a staff member dedicated to this, and they work directly with the passport office in Canal Place. Do this BEFORE you mail paperwork, because you will send directly to passport office in NOLA. I did mine last week… but Lord help me, I know Ida is gonna screw me over.

I mailed mine off of July 19th and got it back August 18th. We are headed to Finest Playa Mujeres in October.

A few years back, I had to drive to NOLA to the passport office. They can print you one there. I was in and out in about 1 hour. It was one of the few government related experiences that wasn't horrible.
