You might recall we've had a Viking Cruise (Viking Homelands. Tours the Baltic Region.) booked for quite a while. One of my best friends (best man in wedding) has had Multiple Myeloma (Cancer of mature plasma cells in the bone marrow). He's gone through hell with stem cell transplants etc. over many months. Finally in remission, getting his vaccinations again (he had no immunity). Back at work. He'd had this booked before Covid hit and we started talking, eventually asking us to go.

That's the backstory. Anyway, fast forward. It's coming up. DATES: May 6 – May 20, 2022.

The original itinerary had stops in St. Petersburg Russia. Talin Estonia. It's been diverted to more stops in Norway and Sweden now.

It may change by then or get worse. Who knows. He did two tours in Iraq. We talked last night. He said I want to go. Life is too short, particularly after what I've gone through. When I was sitting in a foxhole I didn't expect people not to live their lives.

So we still plan on going. It is not with reservation to think about going given what's going on right now. Not much one can do other than donate to causes that help these poor people (like our church just donated $40k to relief organizations helping Ukrainian people for example). Or other relief organizations.

Just an example of how travel is pivoting.
