Europe this summer?

Just curious if anyone has booked a trip to Europe this summer yet since most are reporting that the EU is "Reopening" sometime in May?
I have found a great itinerary and great prices obviously, but curious if you guys find it worth it to take the gamble?
Also a 16 hour travel day with a mask on the whole time does not sound too fun, but the price seems too good to pass up.
We are looking at Italy.

Croatia early July.
Going via Istanbul to avoid continental European testing requirements. Many airports there require transiting passengers to test and could end your trip before you board. This is regardless of whether the destination country requires you to test or not (vaccinated/recovered).
ETA: Avoid separate tickets like the plague. Airline staff in US can't assume you're not trying to enter connecting country, so if you don't meet connecting country requirements they will bar you from boarding. They need to know what your destination country is on one itinerary.
Document everything, rules of entry etc. Don't expect airline staff to know all the different rules and make sure you know them and hold firm.

Thanks for the information. Yes our two connecting flights would both be in JFK so that should make it a little easier. And we would be staying in Italy the whole time.

Have an empty canned beverage handy
Just pretend you are periodically drinking out of it for a break

The mask thing is luck of the drawn on international flights. I just flew American Airlines from Frankfurt to Dallas and even with their shitty reputation I wore the mask maybe half the time and no one said a thing. 3 year old didn’t even have it out.
Depending on what you want to do or stage if life you’re in would be the real inflection point. Even if the economies open I wouldn’t expect a particularly fun nightlife until 2022 and limited restaurant capacity w/ restrictions for a while. But If you wanna relax on a beach, see some museums or take in the scenery then it’ll be fine.
Coming from someone who lived there the last 2 years the best I can describe their entire response to covid has been knee jerk so who knows what will happen in two months.

I flew Delta a lot over the last 12 months.
They took a flaw and made it a feature. If they were going to do masks, they were going to celebrate it.
So there’s a heavy emphasis on cleaning, and on mask wearing. Policing depends on the flight attendants.

Doing London and Scotland for the Euros. Tickets to the stadiums seem to be a bit hard to get. Not super sure about travel either.
TPG had a great article today about Italy reopening and being real easy to see museums.
So, basically, like most things in my life im going to roll the dice and see what happens.
Virgin Atlantic out of JFK if anyone is curious.
