Well I think a child is in my near future so I was wondering if it would be a good investment. I remember going when I was a kid and really enjoying it. But for 40k for just the base amount of points, I don't know if it's worth it.

I would also look at the resell market if you really are interested in purchasing. You can get some resort contracts @ $115/point. You don't recieve some of the perks from not purchasing directly from Disney, but those perks aren't guaranteed and seem to reduce year after year.

I'm in between Boardwalk studio boardwalk view and Beach Club studio for Feb 10 -Feb 16

I read both resorts are going through room renovations. Hope renovations will be complete by then

the DVC rental is only for loding right? We go at least once a year, but typically stay off-site on hotel points. In our case, we would not really benefit right?

Correct

You would not be able to use hotel points. It depends on what you value if it would be a benefit to you or not.

To us, with young kids, staying on Disney property and having the ability to walk, boat, bus, or ride the skyliner to the parks is worth it.

We will use Hyatt points to stay the day before and/or day after check in/out

Yeah, I can see the value in that and while I love Boardwalk and Riveria, we actually prefer AoA, which isn't on the plan. If there was a "budget" option, I may spring for it.

We used David’s several years ago with no problems. We stayed at the Fort wilderness and it was great. The DVC section is further away from the resort amenities but it’s a lot less populated, which is nice.
