Does anyone have suggestions for neighborhoods to stay in Dublin or Madrid? I searched and didn't come up with much...
Prefer something close enough to the city center and but with a local/neighborhood feel. Sort of like Trastavere in Rome or El Born in Barcelona.

Dublin Suburbs

Nice areas - Rathgar/Terenure. Good fun - Rathmines. You'll like those places, 20 mins to the city.

Typed a reply & the board ate it. Trying again:
Christchurch area, between it and St. Patrick's. Near enough to Temple Bar to stumble home, far enough so no one's barfing on your doorstep. Good access to the 747/757 airlink buses to the airport (6 euros one way if you buy in advance).

We stayed in Malasana about 2 blocks from the subway when we were there, and loved it. Pretty hip area, and we walked to a lot of places. Only negative was the AirBnB had a bunch of Atletico Madrid things in it.
