If the flight leaves it should be on time. Watch the night before to see if the plane makes it in from Miami
Will do…debating getting a hotel near the airport to make the trip over easier Thursday AM
If there are no hotels nearby available, how early are you allowed to get to the airport before a flight? (Might be worth it to go Wednesday evening and spend the night there before any roads re-freeze…might not though)

My flight is supposed to arrive from Charlotte the night before (Tuesday night). Obviously that’s weather permitting. Snow is supposed to end around 5:00 Tuesday evening. Plane not set to arrive until midnight so maybe it still lands.
Appreciate any input from those who may have intel here.

I believe they will have the airport open by mid-morning Wednesday. 7:10 am, definitely a maybe. Likely scenario is flight happens but is pushed back a few hours.
I have a late morning flight out of MSY, but my plane arrives from Dallas around 9 am, so right now expecting to get out on time.
Biggest issue may be getting to airport.

Perhaps.
Staying at hotel next to airport Tuesday night. Should be all of a 2 mile drive to airport and in worst case I have 4WD.
Issue might be getting from BR to hotel in Kenner on Tuesday which I might can do if I leave early enough Tuesday before it’s a total shite show.

Thank you for posting this
. I've had a long week already and it's not even wednesday.
What's interesting to me is it sounds like all the airlines are trying to get things back on track for Thursday morning. I doubt delta goes at noon tomorrow especially given the shitshow at Atlanta tonight

Super helpful...thank you for sharing! Sorry that your flight got moved and hope you can get out early Thursday morning along with us.
Think we are gonna check in tomorrow evening for our 6am Thurs flight and hope there are a couple of bars open for $13 beers before we catch a little shut-eye at some random gate. If you're in the same boat, first round on us.

Update, my Thursday morning 6:55 am SW to Dallas (then DC) was just cancelled. Going to rebook for later Thursday, but considering just cancelling since its non-essential travel. Going to keep watching MSY, if flights happen late afternoon/evening that's good. If not, then thats not good...

10 am MSY Update -- https://flymsy.com/2025-winter-weather-updates/
To drockw1: where is your plane coming from the night before for your Thursday AM flight? If possible can you make sure that plane is at MSY, or arriving at MSY before heading to airport. If its not there Wednesday night no way you will depart early morning Thursday.

Current as of 1/22/2025 10 a.m.
The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) continues to monitor the winter weather conditions and the impacts to the area.
Airlines at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport have canceled all departing flights on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025, and some may operate some late night arrivals. Airlines will continue to evaluate if additional cancellations will occur on Thursday, Jan. 23 based on conditions in the local area as well as on the airfield.

Sorry for the back-to-back messages. Reached out to someone connected to the City/MSY, nothing is taking off or landing at MSY today. They are aiming for late morning Thursday after temps rise above freezing.

Yeah, our plane was scheduled to arrive from MIA at like 1:07am, so we were monitoring whether that flight would have left Miami.
However, AA just cancelled our Thursday AM flight; we are re-booked for Friday morning and hoping that one will remain intact.
