Cruised with Covid and Daily Spit

Just returned from a Viking cruise in Netherlands and Belgium. Viking required vaccine, one booster, mask until proven covid free, and daily covid spit test. Wife [no pixs] and I both had covid 20 days before we left. Best thing was getting a recovery PCR test done and a letter stating recovery and a 90 day 'travel pass'.
After everyone passed their first saliva covid test, the cruise was mask free. Then one person came down with it.
Then 3 more. Over the next week, roughly 50 of the 140 cruisers were quarantined at Viking expense at a hotel in a major city.
Our dinner table had 8 people forming a fun group. We lost 2 couples - found that if one person in a cabin was positive, then the cabin mate was quarantined also.
Then on the next to last day, my wife failed her spit test. We were sent to our room. Wife pulled the 'travel pass' and she was declared to have a false positive. We were quaratined for 20 minutes.
Found out that if we had presented our 'travel pass' on day one, we would never had to do a daily spit, saliva test. Oh, drink a lot of water. Spit tests are affected by dehydration... go figure.

Thanks for reminding me to never take a cruise again. Sucks you had to go through that. When will it ever end?

A reminder to everyone to quit taking these vacations until they drop these ridiculous rules.
Not really directed at you, but everyone that feels they just have to take a cruise or travel international - stop.
The longer we try to live with these mandates, the longer they last.
Hop in a car and go see America (we are kind of a big deal)
