Sorry, I had the ship names confused.

It's the Radiance of the Sea.

Where is this located at? I haven't booked anything yet but was looking into it. I guess I will wait.

So are you saying that you can't book any activities until you get on the ship? The 'Plan my cruise' has options for entertainment but it doesn't give any options right now.

The only reason I ask about The Key was because it said it gives you access to pre booking of the shows and activities. We won't be getting the internet. I don't think we are in any worry to talk with anyone while we are out at sea.

good to know. I'm sure we will partake in this nightly as well.

Check the cruise compass when you get on board but it's usually at 3pm in the gym area

Radiance is a nice ship, on the smaller side in their fleet but very popular with Alaskan sailings

That's correct...they basically just put everything now on the app. When you board, connect to the ships wi-fi (even if you don't have the internet package) and then start booking.

You will still be able to get what you want without it.

I booked an ocean-view balcony on Radiance for Jan 6th Nola sailing but decided to cancel because I got a free upgrade to jr. suite on Adventure out of Galveston. I sailed Symphony 7nt out of Miami in July and had the deluxe drink package, 105 drinks total, water, alcohol, specialty drinks, smoothies/fresh squeeze juices from the Vitality Spa, Redbulls, etc. If the drink cost more than $13, you pay the difference.

Even though gratuities are added, I tipped my bartenders $2 bills and my drinks were very strong.

45 days before the sailing, check-in using the Royal app to get a desirable boarding time. Also, when you get to the terminal, connect to the ships' wifi and start booking reservations for all the shows, specialty restaurants, etc. Also watch the muster drill video while in the terminal to expedite your vacation on the ship.
Since it's a November sailing, it'll be cold for the first day or two at sea, so maybe pack a swimsuit in your carry-on to enjoy the slides, pools, etc. without the long lines if the temps aren't as cold. If you want anymore tips shoot me an e-mail. <---@aol.com

Good call...I forgot about the muster drill. Definitely agree...watch that in the terminal and as soon as you step on board go check in and get it out of the way.

I'd like to try Royal Caribbean at some point too.

The wife and I got back this morning from a Royal Caribbean New England/Canada cruise. Booked a France and Italy cruise for next year while we were onboard.

You will be kicking yourself by the first night on NCL for doing multiple with Carnival before.

No you won’t. The first thing you’ll notice about NCL ships (compared to Carnival) is the total lack of open deck space and pools. Carnival’s new ships have four public access pools. NCL’s have two. Two for the same size ship and one of them is next to the kids’ play area.

I stay with Carnival because almost every ship has multiple itineraries. NCL’s do not. They run the same 7 day itinerary every week in many cases. They also do not hit the outer eastern Caribbean nor do they venture down to the southern Caribbean. They sail out of fewer ports which also limits where they can go.

Carnival offers me more variety at a cheaper fare.

Carnival is terrible. Never sailing with them again.

Great info, thanks for passing along.

So I was doing some research and saw something called "The Solarium" that is supposedly on all Royal Caribbean ships. From what it looks like, it is an adults only area of the ship. Do you remember if the Radiance has this?

Outside of that I think we are all good to go. Thanks again for all the information.
