Covid restrictions in France/Italy

Will be traveling in these 2 countries in May. Will use public transportation. We have our US vaccinations. Do we need anything else?

IMO it is difficult to say what the situation would be a week from now, certainly not May.

France has a card sanitare, that is required for you to go out in public and engage in normal life.

France is the most heavily touristed country in the world, and most come in the summer.
I expect the French will reduce restrictions this spring to ensure as many people come as possible. They want the money.
