To those experienced with the city, do these plans look pretty easily doable?

Looks doable, though I would make sure to know where you're going in Fulton Market / West Loop for lunch on Friday. Plenty of spots will be open, but others may not be open until 4:00 - 5:00p. I would go Publican or Cabra for lunch / drinks, Ballast Point rooftop for a beer or two, then finish at Waydown (rooftop bar in Ace Hotel).

Breweries

- Head to Goose Island (Fulton) and grab a cellar bottle for on-site consumption.
- Maplewood has been pumping out groups of hazy IPAs and their Cuppa program is good. Can't wait until they barrel one.
- Alongside GI, Half Acre is a craft beer OG in Chicago. They have a newer Balmoral taproom, which is next door to Spiteful, but I always recommend going to the Lincoln Ave location.
- Alarmist might be too much of a hike, but Le Jus won a gold medal at GABF and they've been throwing out DDH with different hops.
- Sounds like you'll be going to Wrigleyville, so I'd recommend walking over to Southport and going to Corridor, which is known for their IPAs. Head brewer came over from sister brewpub, DryHop, after their guy left for MoRE.
- Best IPAs in the city come from brewers that contract brew out of other spaces. Cans will be a bit more-difficult to find, but go to Beermiscous and seek out Hop Butcher and Phase Three. Cans can be bought individually and consumed there or at home. Unfortunately, Beermiscuous does not carry Saint Errant.

What are the best spots in Wrigleyville to get the experience/watch the game if they are on the road?

Eh, if Cubs are on the road, Wrigleyville is just a frat party. However, number of bars opened second locations (i.e. Happy Camper, Big Star) with patios, etc.

Any recommendations on which museums are best? Looking at aquarium, art institute and science and industry as being the favorites. Just wondering if we will have time or the want to do anymore than those after fighting the (presumed) crowds on a Saturday.

Would add Adler Planetarium.

I'd like to squeeze a few more things into Tuesday am if possible, so if anybody has any ideas please let me know. I'd like to grab a burger from Au Cheval for sure if we haven't by then.

Walk through Lincoln Park. Great neighborhood and park to stroll.

Au Cheval does open at 10:00a during the week, so you could make this work. Otherwise, Small Cheval is plenty good, too - there are locations near The Loop, Bucktown, and Old Town.

Any public transportation tips? We normally lean toward just using Uber if not walking in a new city, but always looking for the easiest way around.

CTA is easy. Walk to State/Lake from Trump and take Green Line to Morgan. Takes, like, five minutes.

Wrigleyville also easy via train. Walk to Grand and take Red Line to Addison.

Little OT from your itinerary, but Chicago is a neighborhood-centric city. Downtown is fine during the week, and if you're looking to explore museums/parks, but can be a little dead on the weekend. Looks like you may have some time before Girl & The Goat to explore and this is always my recommendation for visitors. See what Chicago is all about and take the train into neighborhoods. For example, grab a cocktail in The Up Room at the top of the Robey Hotel in Wicker Park - it's an eclectic neighborhood with plenty of foot and car traffic. From there, you can take the Blue Line to Grand and walk into West Loop, otherwise Uber isn't terribly difficult.

Thanks again for the detailed info. Looks like it may be a wet weekend if the forecast holds. Hopefully not, but we’ll make due.

hoops - if you get this, shoot me an email. Would like to buy you a beer if we can make it happen. jgautr4@yahoo

Hit the ground running today. Dropped bags and hit up Publican, Ballast Point. We decided to do a couple museums since it was raining (Shedd, Field). Hit up Purple Pig and Beacon Tavern as a night cap so far, good stuff.

Staying at the Trump Int’l. Plan is to grab brunch @ Sable, walk around the Art Institute for a while and then find a bar to watch some games and have a pint or 2.

Ive never been, but apparently Declan's is a big ND bar in the old town/Gold Coast area... 15 min trip via the red line from the Art Institute...

There are so many sports bars in Chicago though, you can't help but run into a few... I don't really do downtown that often... Im in the Ukrainian Village/Wicker Park area..

I normally go to Timothy O Tooles when I am downtown and looking for a sports bar. From there walk up Michigan and head towards Rush/State (Viagra Triangle). Go up towards Division and turn left (Butch McGuires). Then head towards Wells and hit that stretch of Old Town bars.

I am headed to Hopleaf for Zwanze Day today. If you are into beer, thats probably what i would do
