Received my credit card statement today which contained majority of charges associated with our trip to Turks
Found roughly 1400$ of charges to money exchanges on my card dated two days after we had returned home
Card is now cancelled...
Be careful and check those statements

Someone recently bought a Delta Airlines ticket for $275.06 on one of my cards. It was the only fraudulent charge for over a week so I was scratching my head trying to figure out where the hell I booked airfare too. Then some medical crap came in from Cali for like $1200 so I reported it.

US issued CCs are much more vulnerable to fraud than Euro issued CCs since US CC Companies have resisted the mandatory use of PINS. So Euro crooks love to get a hold of US card #s.

One of life’s great mysteries. It is astounding how we simply handover a credit card in the US to a waiter at a restaurant and he returns within a few minutes later with the credit card check for us to sign. I’ve been working in Calgary for the past few months and the card never leaves my hand. They bring a wireless machine out to the table and you put your card in the machine and enter your PIN...blows my mind why the US hasn’t fully grasped this yet. Some restaurants have it but I find them very few and far between

Yep. Went to Iceland and everywhere we went they brought me the machine. I thought, ‘huh, this is really efficient and more secure.’ Also helps they don’t do tips.

Same thing happened to me a few years ago. Always wondered how did they convert that airline ticket to cash.

I highly recommend setting up all the security features on your accounts. I get a text and email for all activity. It’s a pain at first to have your phone blow up whenever you make a purchase, but you get used to it.

I was in Amsterdam a few years ago and for some reason the waiter couldn't bring a machine to the table so he asked me to come to the front counter to pay. I kept trying to hand him my card and he said he wasn't allowed to touch it.

Europe has had this for like 20 years now. They also use the tablets where the waiters take your order and enter it in at the table and have had them for many years too. Just now becoming somewhat seen in the USA.

I think its because we have so many stubborn arse old and poor people that switching the tech would be more of a PITA then it saves? I don't know either.

they got my venture card somehow just this week. 381 bucks on "tickets", i called within minutes and had the card locked and then another failed attempt for metro PCS for 60 yesterday. already got it straight, new card number and new card on the way. virtually painless, however still pisses me off
