Cancun transportation to Hyatt/Isla Mujeres

Headed to Cancun in a few weeks for our honeymoon. Doing 5 nights at Hyatt Zilara all inclusive and then decided to do another 3 nights at Hotel Secreto on Isla Mujeres after perusing old threads on this board (they should be paying you, VABuckeye). Haven't booked anything yet as far as transportation from airport...
Hyatt has emailed me offering a private trip from airport to resort for $90 one-way or $160 roundtrip. Hotel Secreto has emailed offering private trip from airport to Ultramar Ferry dock for $60 one way or $120 roundtrip.
Since I am staying at 2 different places, my plan currently is to do the $90 one-way through Hyatt from the airport to the resort when I arrive, then after our 5 night stay, uber from the resort to the Ultramar Ferry dock (3 miles). Then, after our 3 night stay, do the $60 one-way through Hotel Secreto from Ferry dock back to airport. Wanted to check with the board to see if anyone recommends any different options or services for transportation. We do like the idea of private transportation though... also, is it necessary to book the Ultramar Ferry in advance or can I just wait until I get there? Their website was not very user friendly.
A couple of unrelated bonus questions. Where should I get pesos? How much would you suggest tipping for general services such as bringing us food/drinks/etc. at the resort? 50 pesos? 100? More? US Dollars? Thanks in advance.

We've always used the service offred by Hotel Secreto.
We order pesos from our bank at home. It's just easier for us to deal with. We tip Victor the most as he takes care of our every need. We usually give him at least $100 when we stay but our stay there is longer than yours. I do believe they appreciate being tipped in pesos more so they don't get hit with the conversion. We also tip the housekeeper and the busboy lesser amounts.
Enjoy Isla Mujeres. It's one of our favorite spots. We're headed to Isla Holbox for several days on January 23rd.

Have fun! This dog “Bruno” hangs in the town square every night and is the biggest dog I’ve ever seen.
Sorry we missed ya in Isla last July. We are headed to Caye Caulker Feb 8–15. Trip review to ensue....hope you’re able to do the same.

I have been using USA Transfers in Cancun for probably 10 years. They should be significantly cheaper than what the Hyatt is offering.

Isla Holbox on the 23rd here too. Look for the LSU hat.

Awesome. I'll have an Ohio State hat with me. Let's have a beer.

I’ve used Discovery Mundo several times from Cancun airport. It’s reliable and cheap. You’ll save $50 on the quoted Hyatt price and also get your own private minivan. They specialize in airport transfers (either from there or to there), so won’t help much other than your one way to the Hyatt and then from the ferry port back to the airport when you’re departing. I highly recommend them.

I've always used USA transfers and Canada transfers and both have been great. I'm pretty sure they offer hotel to hotel transfers as well, I'm not sure that I'd trust Uber in the area.

I leave for Isla/Secreto Monday! Looking forward to seeing Victor and the rest of my friends on staff there.

we used taxis from airport to Isla ferry dock and back. No issues and very reasonable. Too the ADO bus to Playa Del Carmen one year and no issues with that either. Very clean buses and drops you off right on Cinco Ave.
Before departing to Playa they took us to the Cancun portal. Then we loaded up and headed to Playa. We also took the ADO to the Cancun portal then taxi to the Isla Ferry one year and that was by far the cheapest and really wasn't a bother at all.

We use CARM and they have always been awesome. Plus they will provide you with ferry tickets.
CARM
Use Pesos, get them from your bank before the trip or at the ATM by the ferry in Isla, and tip like you would at home (15-20% or more)

Holbox is known for kiteboarding on the north side of the island. They offer lessons and you’ll see some awesome pros out there as well.
You’ll get to walk about a half a mile along a gorgeous sandbar with crystal clear blue water on each side of you to get to where they kiteboard.
