Can anyone recommend a good spot for a solo mental health weekend?

I like the idea of a cabin in the woods with some nature around. Hiking trails nearby. LA-MS-AL area.

I gotta get away.

Get a hotel room and crank it out for a few days.

Here ya go. I have stayed at this place a few times through the years. the whole thing is nothing fancy at all, but is one hell of a relaxing place with a decent restaurant within walking distance. get yourself a cabin on the water and spend a few days lounging on the dock, etc.

I had a friend who would go here to reset himself. He said it was always a changing time when he went.

St Bernard Abbey at Cullman Alabama

Might check out Clarko State park in Quitman, MS - slow moving peaceful place on I-59 in East Mississippi.

Fly to Phoenix and drive to the Peyote Way Church of God out in Arizona. Do a trip report for the rest of us, let us know how it goes.

Serious answer- get up to the smokies or the ozarks for a long weekend.

I'll be in that county for work in Mar/Apr. I'll check it out.

Probably rather find a Navajo or Apache sweat lodge.

Their website made me think of something though.

Anyone here ever done a vipasanna meditation retreat? (a little longer than a weekend, 10 days for rookies)

There’s a place called “The Mountain” just across the GA border in NC. It’s about 4,000 feet up with cabins and hiking trails everywhere. No TV, etc. Its away from everything.
