Considering chartering late October to November. Rates are real low. How crowded is it that time of year and are most bars and restaurants closed?

Thanks

I've been in the Caribbean pretty much every month of the year and I've never seen bars and restaurants closed.

I've done it twice during Thanksgiving week, never seen any bars or restaurants closed. I think its the best time because its perfect weather, a few of the super yachts have already made it down, and peak season doesn't start until the mid december.

We were in Antigua in early November, just before the kickoff of the winter season and everything was open but there were a lot less people and just a few big yachts in English Harbor

I've been twice in November. Thanksgiving was more crowded for obvious reasons. Had trouble finding mooring balls at a few spots, but managed to revisit on a different day. The second week of November was less crowded, which made navigating a little easier. For places being closed, as far as I remember the major places most visit don't close at all, so I wouldn't let that dissuade me. I remember hearing the places that do close reopen November 1st. There is a forum called traveltalkonline with a lot of info.

I am looking to do the same maybe from Puerto Rico. The only service I looked at so far was about $800 a day, and included all food and drinks. For six people. $600 just for the day. It seemed kind of high to me, but when I considered the price of any regular excursion is going to be Close to that price anyway. It was a 52 footer. what are the prices that you were getting?
