Anybody floated the Buffalo mid July? I realize water conditions play a big part in the sections that are available. It seems the upper end is best to run in Spring, so hopefully the middle section will be okay?

Any recommendations for outfitters and places to stay?

You can certainly float the middle/lower sections then. Just realize that you're basically paddling on stillwater at that point and adjust your daily mileage goals accordingly. Great to fish and swim and chill, though.

Upper most likely won't work by then. But who really knows, last year we had tons of rain. Normally though, it is very dry june/july.

Just keep checking the BOC page, or just hit them up, they'll get you floating somewhere.

We are thinking about staying somewhere middle river so that we could drive up to the upper area east enough, since we will likely be floating the middle section. What towns would be considered middle river for accommodations?

You'll likely be floating east of Hwy 65. I think Marshall and Yellville are the only towns with grocery stores (just to give you an idea of how rural it is).

Just did a float trip between Ponca and Jasper last week. It was great time, weather was not great while we were there. We were lucky to get a float in due to all the rain and cold weather.

We launched in Jasper last year June 29th, and the water level was really low.

Had a blast out of Wild Bills Outfitter in July 2 years ago but we did do a bit of paddling due to low water in some areas.
