Y'all ever been? Have suggestions? I've never visited and have a meeting next week.

The Birthplace of Country Music Museum is there. It would probably be more interesting if you watch Ken Burns’ Country Music show from 2019.
The Virginia Creeper Trail is not far. You can rent a bike and they take you to Whitetop Mountain and you basically coast down to Abingdon, VA. It’s ~ 34 miles or you can do 1/2 way from Damascus, VA.
quote:
The Museum is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution, and tells the story of the legendary 1927 Bristol Sessions, a historic event that sparked what is now known as the “big bang of country music.” These recordings continue to influence and inspire the music of today.

- Hard Rock Casino
- Bristol Hotel rooftop bar
- A couple downtown breweries, one owned by NASCAR driver Michael Waltrip
- Lost State Distillery is some good stuff
- Several watering holes up and down State Street
Whatever you do, go to BLACKBIRD BAKERY and take your pick. The absolute best bakery I’ve been to outside of a major city (Chicago, New York, etc.)

Also there’s a place called Burger Bar which is rumored to be the last place Hank Williams was seen alive in the drive between Knoxville and WV where he was pronounced dead
