Going in December. Close to Christmas. I have flown Southwest just about every time I made this trip back in the last 15 years. Average once every other year. With the prices, issues with cancellations and having to park my car at the airport, I am leaning on making the drive instead. Will rent a car because I have a company vehicle that I can’t take that far. Suggestions?

What suggestion do you want?

Drive if you want to drive.

You looking for route tips or something?

If you want to go scenic AND leisurely, drive up to Natchez and you can take the Natchez Trace all the way there. It’s basically 50mph with scattered Ranger speed traps all the whole way up, though.

I did the drive recently.

Stop for dinner at Big Bob Gibson’s Bar-B-Q in Decatur. Worth it.

Grab some sauce for home while you’re there.
