Awesome. Might I recommend Fiji as well? We really enjoyerd it and Blue Lagoon Cruises was phenomenal. These are not what you think of when you think of your typical cruise. First, other than a few Americans it is all Aussies and New Zealanders and good lord do they know how to party.

Not asking specifics but what budget would you recommend for this trip?

Flights are mainly out of LAX and SFO to Tahiti. Another 50 min flight from Tahiti (PPT) to Bora Bora (just this flight costed us $500 each). The earlier you book the less expensive. Then boat ride to your resort. We flew Air France there and then Air Tahiti Nui back to LAX. We took 4 flight there total and 3 on the way back home.

Hotel: St. Regis OWBs average around $2k/night. May-Oct. is considered peak/dry season so it can be more. There are reef villas which are nice but the who point of coming here is to experience sleeping above water and diving off your deck at will.

Food was expensive as a captive audience. A lot of people get liquor from Duty Free or pack from home including snacks. We're talking $40 cheeseburger, $10 bottle water, $15 for miso soup and $25 edamame Had the chef's special 5 course meal for $225 and I could have completed each course with 1-2 bites.

Main Island was much cheaper. St Regis has free boat ride to the main island 6 day/wk.

Had a Fiji, Australia, New Zealand trip scheduled but was nixed by Covid. Definitely 3 places that we want to visit.

We did not. The bus stopped to let some people out but we did not go. I read that it was the place to check out on the main island, but after reading some reviews, It did not seem all that spectacular so we opted out. And I don't drink bloody marys lol.

With only 5 days at St Regis...what did you do before and after or was that the full trip once out of the US?

That was it. The goal was only Bora Bora. 5 days was enough for me. Wife said she could have stayed longer but we actually started missing the kids.

We did 19 days when we went. Papeete, Bora Bora, Fiji, Maui then home. Trip of a lifetime and I'd love to do it again.

Yea, I could see 5 days in Bora Bora being enough for me too (at those prices) but I'd like to add some things before / after if I could. The island jumping could increase the airfare but hopefully could make some of that up with accommodation savings in other places.

Looks like an awesome trip. We're going to head back to the Philippines next year and hop over to Thailand for our 20th anniv and looking for something already for our 25th

There are other places to stay there that are still very nice and cost less.

Tahiti Dot Com

Airfare included on the packages so under $10k for two for a week to ten days at quite a few places.
