Those who have been:

Where did you stay?

What restaurants did you go to that you can recall?

Any day trips?

Did you take the plane or ferry to get there?

Been twice. Stayed at Victoria House in San Pedro last fall, and would definitely go back. The only downside was it was a pain to drive the cart into town. The road will dislodge a vertebrae if you're not careful. Definitely take the plane. It's 15 minutes vs. an hour for the ferry. I'd see the ferry go by the resort every day and thought every time how glad I was we flew. We actually had a 2.5 hour wait for our flight to the island, but the guy at the counter asked if we wanted to go early. Said yep, and they had us on a plane 5 minutes later. The guy at the gate even called Victoria House for us to make sure we had a ride from the airport.

First time was in 2019 and stayed in Hopkins at Almond Beach Resort. Much quieter, but less to do. Dive trips were a long boat ride (2 hours for the blue hole) vs. San Pedro where you could see the dive spots on the reef from the dock.

Hung out at the Alaia one afternoon since the dive shop were using was there. Seemed nice, though a lot busier. Our dive trips were through Belize Pro Dive Center. My gf got certified there and the instructor was awesome, but he only worked with students. The other dive master we used was just ok. Overall, I'd dive with them again, but would also look elsewhere.

A lot of places only take cash. If you're on the south side of the town, the drive to Secret Beach doesn't seem worth it.

The Hungry Grouper was a little hole in the wall place with some very good food. The owner is a nice guy. Elvi's was highly recommended but was just ok. The Blue Water Grill wasn't bad, either. Overall, the food was good, but nothing special.

Everyone was quiet but very laid back. I kept expecting people to get annoyed at things, but they never did. Like when driving the cart someone would be about to cross the street, and I wouldn't see them in time (it's crowded and people are everywhere), so they'd have to stop abruptly. They were really chill about everything. Going through customs in Atlanta was a rude re-awakening to America. Some rude, unhappy pieces of shite there, let me tell you.
