Banff National Park , Alberta.

For those of you that have been…. Is Canmore a decent option for lodging? Everything in the town of Banff is much more expensive . Will pony up if I need to but much more value it appears in Canmore. Looking at next summer (mid July probably ) Thanks in advance.

Canmore is fine. We stayed there our last trip in 2019. We had a car to get around.
If you are of able body, sign up for the Via Ferrata in Banff.

We were there at the beginning of June. Canmore is a good place to stay with many restaurants and a couple of breweries.

Thanks. I’m def of able body just not sure I’m of able mind. I’d be pretty puckered up with all that climbing. Minus the Ethan Hunt MI-4 stuff what was your favorite part of the park.

Thanks that’s good to know. Canmore looks great and way more bang for your buck on lodging .

My wife and I went with my elderly parents last trip. My mom always had a soft spot for Lake Louise and we spent some time there. I thought Moraine Lake was better.
Best tip I can give you, whatever peaks your interest the most, get there EARLY. Crowds can be unbearable. We drove a lot of the area as well. I remember a sky bridge or sky walk that made for great pics. Google will help figure that out. I think we went as far as Jasper.
One day driving the area and one day hiking is a good plan. Plus a day for Via Ferrata.
The highlight was Via Ferrata. It’s definitely something I would do again. What an experience.
