Assistance with NOLA hotel

I am trying to decide between the New Orleans Marriott on Canal and Q&C HotelBar (also a Marriott property) on Camp Street between Poydras and Gravier.
Any help about location or the hotels would be appreciated.
March 3 weekend for the R&R marathon is the occasion. Will mostly be walking to restaurants and bars. Not super late night but definitely into the evening.
Thanks.

Marriott is on the edge of the Quarter. Q&C is a few blocks away in the CBD. If you're looking to stay close to the French Quarter, Marriott is the better location. I've stayed at the Q&C years back and it was fine. Unless they've done a massive renovation, the rooms were a bit small.

I have stayed at both recently.
Q&C is a small, cool hotel with a great bar and restaurant even with it being small. Top notch service but yes rooms are small. I love it because it has free shuffle board in lobby!
If it is just you and wife I would defintely suggest it. Walk to canal and rest of FC is very short so I would not worry about location.
If you are looking for a big property with more bar and restaurant options and larger rooms the Canal Marriott would be great. If you are platinum they have a great new M Club.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Q&C is closer to the start of the race, and I've heard nothing but good things about it. Not that Canal is "far" but the closer to the start of a race, the better, imo. I live a few blocks away from Q&C, fwiw.

Agreed. My room was really well appointed. Old wood, etc. I really liked it. Two sides to the hotel from what I understand. I’d stay there again for sure. And convenient.

Check out the renaissance on tchoup. I love that place and it’s a Marriott property if that’s important. Easy walk to start of race. We’ll be down there for the race and staying at Le meridian

Are y'all doing the half or full? I think it's by far the greatest half in the country. However the second half not so much.

Half
I think it’s our 5th or 6th year in a row. We have a group of about 12 or so going. It’s always a blast. Hitting up Patois the night before the race and Maypop Sunday night

I am doing the half as well.
Try the Savannah R and R sometime. It is fantastic.
Also flat. Haha!
