I agree about 19 minutes but it's going to take a lot longer with all of those cross walks.

Looks like about a 14 mile walk.

Depends where you start.

Geographically, Marble Hill is part of the Bronx (now because of engineering) but is still municipally part of Manhattan.

So if you mean just the physical island of Manhattan as it is presently, then yes, it's 14ish miles. But if you start at Marble Hill, it's slightly more.

Either way, you could take the 1 to 215th or 225th and start at either to head down.

I used to live by Van Cortlandt Park years ago, and thought of doing this but from the South Ferry terminal up Broadway. Just never found the time.

At that pace the other pedestrians would murder you. Everyone’s in a hurry

New York is hot and humid in the summer. It also smells. You’d show up whoever your were going, soaked in sweat, and looking for a shower. It’s okay by October though, when the temperature drops.

12 years ago I was going to do this. Family emergency cancelled the trip. It's going to be cooler than south Louisiana so don't think I'll die.

Are the hot dog carts all over the place?

Gonna do some snacking along the way.

We covered around 10-15 miles one day. Stayed in Times Square, walked to the far end of Central Park, stopping at several places along the way so it wasn't just a straight shot. And then walked back. That trip totally made me rethink what shoes to take on trips. I had what I thought were comfortable shoes, but I'll never take a trip somewhere that I'm planning on lots of walking without some good running/athletic shoes again.
