Anyone stayed at The Lodge at Gulf State Park?

Got a room there soon, in town for a soccer tournament, and I’m just wondering what it’s like. Are there trails through the dunes, or is it just a beach spot? We’ve stayed in the Cabins ($180 cleaning fee for two nights seems steep) on the lake at the park, but this seems different. IDK, there wasn’t much else interesting.

It's on the beach and just a beach spot, but the trails through the park are literally right across the street.

There are several miles of nice paved trails (The Hugh Branyon Backcountry Trail) in the park in the area between the beach and the soccer complex.
We rented bikes and rode the whole system. There were several geocaches along the way, if you are into that, and we stopped for lunch at a country club golf-course cafe that is along the route. Dropped in at the sports complex, where they were holding the SEC soccer tournament, to use the bathrooms.
Beach Bike Rentals is the one we used. They are right beside the trailhead. Looks like Gulf State Park Bike Rentals is right near your lodge, so that may be more convenient.
I've been to the area many times, and that was one of the most enjoyable days I've had there. It helps when the weather is perfect.
