Going the first week of April for spring break. Found out last minute I’m off and can take the family (young kids). Wasn’t much available in the area but wanted to go further east than orange beach, our normal trip.

Sundestin looks cheaper priced than the other, already booked rentals. Am I in for a white trash, college spring break type atmosphere or a more subtle family vacation.

Thanks for any reviews. Should be fun either way.

Stayed there many many years ago. We had a good time. No idea how it is now.

Check out Pelican Beach also. Has a bar and grill that comes in handy when you don’t want to make lunch.

We are staying there around the same time. I've stayed there in the past.

Destin is not a huge spring break destination. It;s more costly than its neighbors and the night life is not suited to college kids as opposed to PCB or Gulf Shores/OB.

Been there twice in the last 3 years. The building itself is dated and outside doesn't look very luxurious but that didn't really bother me. The view was incredible and everything else was top notch. The location and price is great also. I highly recommend Sundestin. You can walk down the beach to the Back Porch restaurant.

My only complaint was that a beach umbrella company has taken over and they only give you a small space where you can setup your own beach chair and umbrella.

Damn, bringing back some memories. We used to stay there when I was a kid, so like late 90’s. If it’s the same, it’s quite kid friendly. They had a Pizza Hut in house and a daycare with activities and fine arse bitches running the show until like 9:00 pm or so if you want to just go to dinner with your wife.

It’s a great location in town.

pal of mine has a place there. It's decent. Normally not a huge college kid hangout and more of a family place but for spring break I imagine there will be some college kids around. Super easy to get on/off the beach, obviously, and they have a little restaurant/bar downstairs which is convenient.
