We go to one just about every year (even got married in a church at one). Just got back two days ago from Secrets Puerto Los Cabos.

We've been to
TRS Yucatan (riviera maya)
TRS Coral (playa mujeres)
Secrets Maroma Beach (maroma beach)
Catalonia Royal La Romana (La Romana, DR)
Pueblo Bonita Pacifica (Cabo, pacific side)
Secrets Puerto Los Cabos (Cabo, sea side)

Secrets is a great resort, well kept property, food is good, entertainment is good, service is good, and Maroma is one of the finest beaches in the world.

We like TRS Yucatan the best though. Good liquor everywhere, great beach, great dinner show at Chic Cabaret, adult section of a larger resort so there are more bars and restaurants than you can count. Very little is "extra" like a lot of other resorts. You can get chargrilled lobster with any meal you want at any restaurant, even room service. Excellent service, food, and facilities. Helios pool is best I've been to.

Really, do your research on trip advisor and you will find the AI choices are many out there.

Excellence Riviera in Cancun

Is this property sprawling and spread out? I'm planning a surprise trip for my boyfriend in October (though now I'm concerned about it being rainy season) and he's recovering from pretty extensive surgery. I don't want him having to trek too far to get to the beach. I'm thinking a swim-up suite is the right room for us.
