there is a river and bear viewing area you can take an uber to, by an old sawmill, forget the name, in ketchikan

Agreed that small boat is best! We didn't do Harv and Marv, but went with Jayleen's Alaska. She is either Harv or Marv's (not their real names) daughter and grew up on an island in Auke Bay. Her dad got tired of hauling her to town and gave her a skiff when she was 12. She began working on their tours around that age as well and was a captain of her own boat by the time she was 19. We really enjoyed her tour.

Look at the rafting options. They are varied at all different skill levels. We did one at the base of a glacier that was awesome. I think we went on your exact cruise.
