3 women, like active travel plus cultural stuff, good food and wine, hiking too. Thinking about renting a flat in Lisbon for 4 days, then 3 days on the Algarve coast. Suggestions for accommodations, logistics, etc?

I would hit Porto too. Great food and wine there but a smaller city than lisbon. Lisbon has a more late night food and party scene similar to spanish cities. Porto doesn't seem to have as crazy of a late night scene. We stayed in airbnb in lisbon and porto.

There are a few really detailed reviews of Portugal in the sticky. I’d recommend you read through them.

Any suggestions of which part of town to stay in for max walking convenience? Lots of Airb&b choices!

West coast adventures for a guided hike in Lagos. It was amazing.
Lagos- pont Da piedade. Lighthouse at the end of the world. Praia de camillo was my favorite beach area. It’s absolutely gorgeous.

Lisbon is awesome. Pink street, time out market, go listen to fado in chiado, lux club if you are into clubbing. Pensao Amor on the pink street is a fun bar. Topo Bar has an amazing view of the city. Go to the Santa justa elevator and take pics from the top. Ride tram 28. There’s so much to do in Lisbon and I barely scratched the surface.

Baixa-Chiado and Barrio Alto areas is probably where you'll spend the most time as its the old part of the city and has tons of restaurants and bars. We stayed near the Time Out Food Hall and away from the main tourist areas. It was about a 15 minute walk to the main areas and slightly uphill one way....we got a workout. The thing to be careful of is Lisbon is an all night party city so a lot of airbnb places are on noisy streets. Read the comments/reviews carefully to see if people complain about noise. The other cool thing to do is check out the old refreshment stand (kiosks) in the parks. They have food and beer/wine and you can chill in the park. LINK. Our favorite was Kiosk Adamastor Lisbon Santa Catarina which is on a hill overlooking the water.

As far as Lisbon goes...Barrio Alto is where you want to stay for convenience to the fun stuff. But it can get noisy at night if that’s an issue. I would equate that neighborhood to the French Quarter.

Time Out Market is their famous food market that is an experience. Make sure you get reservations to Ramiro for dinner. You won’t be disappointed. I was there a few weeks ago and it lived up to the hype.
