5-7 Bedroom Riviera Maya Rental

Anyone every rent a large home in riviera maya area for large mixed families (kids included) How was the experience? Is there a lot to do on your own? Is it safe?
Toying with the idea but have some reservation just based on the unknown. Give me the rundown!

My play would be to look at Playacar. It’s gated and there’s lots of rentals and I’ve always felt safe walking around there. Short walk or shorter cab ride to Playa del Carmen so there’s plenty to do.
