YouTube TV App - Basic Features Missing?

We recently switched over to YouTube TV and have been really frustrated with the app. The root of the issue is I can’t seem to find any sort guide or instructions for how to do basic things, but when I search for specific things, it seems like a ton of basic features/functions are non-existent. What am I missing here? Is the “500lb gorilla” in streaming app really this bad?
A few examples:
-Jump to last channel - I can actually find info on this and it doesn’t seem to exist. There is the “click down 3 times and it should be there” workaround, but this very rarely has the last channel as the first choice, which makes jumping between 2 games a chore.
-Catch up to live - can’t find any information on this. Most services have a “go live” button if you pause a show/game and want to quickly catch up; it seems YouTube TV does not. I can fast forward and hope I’m live, but the best way seems to be to switch channels and then come back.
-DVR/Library - my wife is the one that uses the dvr, but it seems like a complete disaster. If she stops a show in the middle, there is no way to resume where she left off? So she has resorted to writing down where she stopped. Likewise, there is no way to tell what episodes she has watched (and you can’t delete single episodes after finishing ), so again she has to manually track it?
As mentioned above, on top of the issues there seems to be basically zero official guides or instructions on how to use the damn app so I’ve come here to see if I’m just completely missing something. Appreciate any pointers as its extremely frustrating that I’m missing Xfinity already. I’m using the fire stick and LG smart TV apps if they matters.

quote:Yeah it's kind of hit or miss when you try to catch up to live, but "live" highlights in red when you're live so you don't have to hope. But with streaming services "live" can be seconds to minutes behind actual live.

quote:The shows in my library that I've recorded show which episodes I've watched, and there are progress bars under those I've started but didn't finish. I guess it's odd you can't "delete" episodes, but storage is unlimited (because it's not "your" space, they just save everything and deliver to whoever adds it to their library) so I never thought of it as a problem.

quote:YoutubeTV is pretty similar to the regular Youtube app, so I guess they figure it doesn't need instructions? I appreciate good documentation, and it's pretty typical of big tech to be lacking here. It can be a pain.

You have search history paused in your google account settings. Turn it off and it will show all past viewings and let you start from where you stopped.

That must be fricking up his last channel thing cause the 3 clicks down definitely shows all the last channels in order

Thanks y’all. Seems the root of most of the issues is that I’ve turned off a bunch of the data tracking / privacy stuff in my gmail account. I’ll likely resub with a different gmail account and see if that helps.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Sorry that you're having these issues. About the only issue I have with YouTube TV is that it sometimes doesn't DVR something into my library even though I have it checked off to do so.

Anybodys local channels look terrible on YouTube TV for the past week or so? The rest of the channels looks normal but all 4 locals look like standard def TV from 1990.

I had these same issues and search history was paused but I changed it and that didn’t correct anything.
