XBox for 9 year old?

Need advice on Xbox. 9 year old wants one for his birthday to play Madden.
Aren’t there multiple options? Hard drive vs disc? Anything I need to know?

It is, I have the Xbox Series S and I play games with it. The graphics are better on the Series X but it's in harder demand and like $200 more.
To play madden, the Xbox series S is completely perfect.

If you have the money and can find the Series X at bestbuy or wherever, then sure. But if you're just trying to get him something fast, cheaper and he won't care if he has the X or S... get the Series S in my opinion.

If just for the kids, I think the S is fine. If you plan on playing you may want to go for the X. Either way you can expand the memory with an external hard drive which reportedly runs faster than the built in memory drive. Second getting Game Pass. YMMV

Be sure to disable voice chat in the settings. Adults on Xbox are worse than the folks in the OT lounge

All good advice. Believe I’m going to start him with the S. Im aware of the a-holes that chat. I’ll make sure that isn’t happening.
