Does anyone have good experience doing this? I’m about to be in-between my apartment and new home and living in a house with only DSL. My cox router is coax only.

If you can get a good 4g signal and it isn't a highly populated area it should be fine (jetpacks with unlimited data fall to the bottom of the priority list if there's network congestion).

The MSP I work for supports several clients that do this with Jetpacks and AT&T hotspots, and I really don't recommend it unless you have a strong, very consistent 4G signal.

Otherwise you will have an adventure, to put it lightly.

Mrs. Cotten and I work full time remotely from a class c RV. Both of us in IT so we have to have good signal for any prod issues, etc in the middle of the night.

We use a GL router with a Verizon and T-Mobile sim; both of which are unthrottled, grandfathered unlimited data plans. We also have 60g total of ATT hotspot for redundancy if needed.

I’ll say though, our ATT home WiFi is pretty consistently 80 up/80ish down. Mobile router wise we only get 20 up/10ish down peak. Usually closer to 10/5 so take that into consideration. Even that low, we don’t have any issues with us both being on Teams video calls at the same time.

I have done it and a few of my co-workers are currently doing it with good results. I was even able to stream TV with it, but you definitely want unlimited data.

My wife has a hotspot from work, and it works okay at our house.

We just noticed that it has ports for an external antenna. Anyone find that this improves performance in areas with weaker cell signal?
