Why did they replace the good ole windows search with this shite?
Things that it should find EASILY aren't appearing in the search results. So frustrating

it actually still does, you just have to t....y.....p.....e....
v.....e......r.....y.....
s....l......o......w....

For it to fil the results out. The searching algorithim is slow.

Test it out. I like to get to the printers and scanners list just by typing "printers"

if i type at my normal speed, it's too fast for cortana. sometimes i get the stupid print management MMC i never use, other times nothing at all comes up

BUT

if I type "p" (wait one second) "r" (1 sec) "i" (1 sec) and then when I get to "n" it finally gets me the right option every single time (i touch literally thousands of computers so I've tested it enough times to get consistent results)

try it..

you can do it with "system" as well to see what I mean type in s....y....s and see what comes up and compare it to when you just type system real fast. but to test it properly you have to type system in fast first to see that it doesnt work, then do it slow and it will. once it gets the right result it caches it so the next times you do it, it'll be instant.

Once you get it to fill out then it will come in real time each time you type it from then on until you reboot.

So yea, it's total crap, like WAY worse than win 7. i hate it. It's so damn frustrating, at least i found out if i slow down i can still get what I need. but once again leave it to microsoft to frick up something that was working fine.

Yep, never have learned to like, as much as I wanted to like it. I finally disabled it on my Windows machines.

I've never had problems with it. Then again, I have a considerably more powerful machine than most so maybe I just don't notice. Frankly I think it's a substantial improvement.

I’ve never had an issue finding what I need; but most of what I need is pinned to the taskbar save a couple of programs.
