If there is a way to switch from One Drive storage to local storage, can someone please explain how to do so? It's a Lenovo Yoga with Win 11 Home and Bitlocker security installed as purchased. Thanks.

When you save a file select this PC instead of OneDrive.

Turn off the OneDrive Backup so your documents, desktop and pictures go back to the normal folders. Then Sign out of OneDrive app.

Thanks all. I downloaded everything from Onedrive to a non-Onedrive folder(s) on my CPU. Deleted everything in Onedrive, unlinked Onedrive, removed it from the apps and finally redirected to a Desktop that was not Onedrive\Desktop. It was probably a really clumsy method, but it worked.

I bought a laptop a few months ago and found it exceedingly frustrating and difficult to finally get all of my files stored locally. Windows fought me every step of the way; it was fricking infuriating.

I'm convinced when there's money to be had such as paying for more storage in this case, MS makes it stupidly difficult to remove or modify an app.

If I recall correctly, I think I had to delete registry entries

Try to find the local folder structure on a Mac and report back. Windows is eleventy million times easier.

Open OneDrive from clicking cloud icon in taskbar, click settings icon, scroll to Advanced Settings, click to show.
