I recently upgraded to 100MB internet which has been an awesome coming from my 20MB. I have a TP-LINK N600 router that I was gifted from a buddy who upgraded to something faster for gaming.

The wireless speed is all over the place - it will be 70MB one minute, then crawling below 1.0MB the next - any idea why? It has to be the wireless as my hard connection on my desktop is much more reliable.

Any ideas? The speeds are taken sitting in the same spot in the house.

TP-LINK

In my experience, they are amazing routers until after 8-12 months when they turn to crap that has to be constantly rebooted

I put a few Google Wifi Routers around the house and my ATT Uverse Internet hasn't been more reliable for as long as I can remember.

It's awesome. Always on. NEVER any problems.

Have you checked to see if the firmware has been updated?

Awesome, may look into it. You have multiple routers? Is each its own network?

Also try changing the broadcast channel on your wifi.

Some cordless phones use the same frequencies. So you may be zipping along and then your neighbor makes a phone call which blows up your broadcast frequency.

Definitely try this. I did this last week and my wifi signal and speed nearly doubled across the house.

No. It's like a mesh network. And it's got an incredibly simple UI for their app that allows you to see each spot's signal strength, lets you turn off access to individual devices, lets you prioritize others, etc.
