Hell, I advertise some on Facebook. But I know I'm in league with the Devil.

Are you using a funnel strategy like 99% of Facebook advertisers? If so, you are doing the exact same thing that Apple is preventing mobile app companies from doing. The only difference is that you are not bottlenecked through Apple infrastructure.
Every company that advertises on facebook should be using the pixel. It would be silly not to. Mobile apps are just in a different world because everything is forced to run through Apple.

yep. And it really just hurts little guys. It hurts startup apps as already established apps have large stable user base to keep them afloat (which they were able to grow cheaply and efficiently prior to this)
It hurts small business and helps bigger brands who can afford to spend a lot more marketing budget inefficiently (awareness instead of performance)
As a user you should want targeted ads based on what you like instead of just large brands generically blindly buying up ad space.
I’d much rather see an ad for a random guitar or kayak accessory than another Progressive Insurance ad, for example. I’d rather see an ad for a fun idle RPG mobile game based on my other apps rather an another Candy Crush, Angry Birds or Toon Blast ad.
Apple could create “privacy” without going as draconian as they are

Apple isn't on your side either, they just want your data to themselves.
I hate apple for their shitty hardware/software practices, but I think restricting third party apps is a good thing.
Based on Apple's current model, I just don't see how they would be able to monetize this exclusive data. At most, they could use your data to suggest products from their app or music store. But that would be very underwhelming use of such valuable data IMO.

As a user, I don't want my information to be used IN ANY WAY to sell me shite. This is why I use ad blockers on all of my devices and use modded apps whenever possible to get rid of ads.
frick ads.

Apparently they want you to update so they can blow your phone up with exposure notifications.
I've had a notification every hour today, and I haven't opted-in to it. They just keep saying its available.
I have had to shut off exposure notifications twice so far (2 different settings).

short sighted and not even the point I was making...Apple isn’t suggesting “privacy” to not serve you ads
