cad sux, ok boomer, yeah yeah yeah, lets get all that out of the way.
so anyway, it seems more and more books are being banned (lol @ camp of the saints on amazon for $1,817.68) so i'm starting my own digital collection from...sources...
so this is just a 2020 model, bw, pretty simple. however i charged it earlier today to 100% and its already down to 95% ..about the same battery drain as my phone.
i heard the battery in this thing is supposed to last for weeks so wtf? is this normal or do i have some setting enabled that is draining the battery faster?
i put one book on it (while still charging) and its been sitting on my desk all morning with the book cover 'screensaver' on so its not like i turned the backlight on or have been using it all morning.
second, it appears amazon is finally allowing epub book format. any pros and cons to anyone who has one now?
pdfs are a non-starter. absolute trash. i tried putting one on last night and the inability to enlarge the font is a deal-breaker. complete shite trying to 'pinch to zoom' and dragging the screen left and right trying to read each line. amazon should have converted the PDF when i uploaded it to a readable format but at least i found this right away and not after having uploaded a bunch.
not super happy with amazon 'snooping' at every book i put on there but i dont really see a way around that. since this is connected they are gonna look at what i'm reading even if i transfered it via USB.
any thoughts or suggestions from anyone who owns/owned a kindle?
my wife hates the huge stacks of books i have so maybe this will help in that regards as well.

Should be some sort of battery save mode. Paperwhite has it. Not sure what it does. Dim the backlight also should help.

Yes, battery is less than I expected. I end up charging weekly. Probably the same age/model as yours. I've read epubs from other sources with no problems.
My biggest complaint with Kindle are maps and graphics, no way to zoom them, so I have to go to my laptop and find the map/graphic.

Paperwhite is what we have and the battery will last weeks at a time.
