I have an outdated HTC10 that's really acting it's age lately.. The only thing I've kinda maybe have noticed is a lil mini delay in opening new web pages/sites..but could also be because of my phone itself..

Wife and I both are ordering more online stuff than ever before and with Lifelock plus Norton Security vpn, I feel pretty safe.. More and more of evil people springing up every day..

NordVPN, it’s cheap and you can manage 6 devices simultaneously. They even use private DNS servers to keep your ISP from monitoring your DNS lookups while connected to the VPN.
I went with a 2 year subscription for $78, a special they were having 10 months ago.

Why do you need a VPN?
- alter accounts on forums you have been banned from
- browsing kinky porn you hope nobody ever finds out about
- getting around blockers in foreign countries so you can buy shite from Amazon or watch shite on Netflix
What am I missing?

I am using FoxyProxy VPN that is good for all time. For any information regarding network issues you can visit Network System Engineers

You may feel safer shopping online with a VPN but in fact it does nothing to improve safety. I would argue that it makes you less safe.
Good marketing though..

Yes, you need one.
I would NOT use NordVPN or any other VPN sold by a company who does not identify who they really are. I think they have changed their "Panama" address three times. The first one was one that had also been used by people of questionable integrity - being PC. Why do they imply they are "Nordic" if they are in Central America? My guess is they are located in one of the former Soviet countries in the Nordic area. You will also not find info about the executives. Their support is based in southeast Asia.
Before buying ... go to the company's web site, click on About US and find out a little about them. There are other companies that do the same thing as "Nord".
I'd look at VyprVPN (US / Swiss), Tunnel Bear (US / Canada), or Freedome by Fsecure (Finland). I've not looked at Norton on a mobile device, but that would be a possibility as well - US based.
You can get a free account (not a trial) of Tunnel Bear that only gets you 500MB per month free. That would allow you to try it out.
