A week or two ago the numeric and special character keyboard on my phone changed. I'm now getting the following on my phone.

What in the world have I (or my kid) done and how do I get it back? Or is it a new android "feature"? I've tried to return it to "normal" for days and can't find the setting(s) to do it.

Hit the "!@#" button to get normal number and special character keyboard.

Hit "ABC" for your letter keyboard.

That's the problem. when you hit the !@# button it brings up an abbreviated version of the extended character keyboard.

If you'll notice, the math functions +,-,x,= aren't on that screen. And I use those pretty frequently. You have to use the space bar to scroll through the 3 screen that they are now on. Then, if typing in numeric characters, you have to scroll back to the number keypad to to type them....

I don't think that's what he's saying. I think he may have changed it to the one handed style.

If he did that he should hit the three dots on top right of keyboard and look at those settings.

I've done that. It says "Samsung keyboard".

There's a settings icon right there in your screenshot. It will be in there somewhere.

Fixed it. Never really found out what I did but the solution was:

Settings
General management
Samsung keyboard
Reset to default settings
Reset keyboard settings
