Weird TV event yesterday - Sony

Power went out briefly, but TV came back on with no issues. Later that night, tried to watch TV. Nothing playing from DirectStream box. I unplug it and plug back in. Nothing on the TV. I check wifi-signal is strong. I try HBO Max and it works. I try Netflix, but that does not work. Paramount did not work either.
So I then start poking around in setting having no idea what I am doing. I see an option for reset. Why not? After reset, everything worked. WTH?

Congratulations. You are now promoted to supervisor of front desk end-user support.

My Sony TV had an update last night. I didnt read the notes to see what it was, but I think it was a pretty big one because it took 15 minutes to install. Maybe yours was going through the same update and hit a snag somewhere to screw your system up mid install. It likely reinstalled the update without issue when you reset it. Thats my guess
edit: do you have a newer Sony? May have been the VRR update that theyve been promising since beginning of last year. They started gradually rolling out that big update in the last month or so...

Yep. Happened to me early this week. Sony A80J update. Extensive one. Some apps didn’t work afterward. Read a little and found the reset suggestion. Worked perfect. Up and running better than ever.
