I did the same this afternoon.

It was bugging me all morning.

I thought about it this way. If I wait until next year my phone will lose 300 dollars in trade in value. I looked at the 12 Pro Max trade in and that was only getting 700. By trading in now, I get the 1,000 in bill credits and an additional bill credit 200 dollars. In the end, I will pay almost zero for the upgrade, so I decied to do the Next Plan to get the extra trade in for 10 dollars a month. It will still be less than the 27 dollars I was paying now for my current phone. I just have to watch for the sticker shock for the first bill of the 35 dollar upgrade fee and full payments until the bill credits kick in.

What’s the trade in value for a 12? T-Mobile is only offering $200…
