I will not have Phone access once I disable the old Modem. It runs through my Computer.

Good luck then..As far as I know, they have to have some information off the new modem in order to attach it to your service...MAYBE call them ahead of the switch and see what they recommend...

Okay, Thanks.
Consider this the freebie..I swear to God if you start a thread wanting to install some OS on your 1998 laptop, I'll track you down..

I'm Cool, Man. Do they still have "Dial-Up"?

-Hook up the coax cable into your new modem
-Run the ethernet cable from your new modem to your PC
-Plug new modem's power chord into an outlet
-Call Cox and give them the serial # on the new modem
-Enjoy your internet

It is going to get slightly more complicated than that if you want Wifi, but not much.

The directions are usually in the installation kit. That's what I use.
