Verizon Customers: Anyone here use a recent promo for smartphone purchase?

I am trying to cash in on a promo which gives me $100 off a smart watch after buying a qualifying smart phone.
On the check-out screen it shows that I have applied the promo and qualified based on the conditions. Yet when i go through to agree on the contract payments there is no promotional discount being shown within the contract.
I eventually googled the subject and found other cases where people have been given promos through verizon being told the promo would be applied after so many billing cycles yet in the end it never happened. Eventually after hassling with verizon they would tell them they were always ineligible in the first place.
How do I know if Im going to get the promo or not?

My only advice is to read the fine print. I tried to do one of the promos last year when I bought my wife a new iphone. I didn't read the fine print and learned that I was only going to get the discount if I elected to pay it off on a monthly basis, as opposed to paying for the whole thing upfront.

Verizon customer here and was looking at the 100 off of the Apple Watch and almost pulled the trigger last night but talked myself into waiting until Black Friday cyber Monday to see if there are better deals. It’s only a month away.

Ehh, I just pulled the trigger on a Samsung Galaxy Watch. I've wanted it awhile and I doubt there will be many deals that can beat $100 off. I was buying a new phone anyways, so I might as well take advantage. I'll report back here once I see the discount appear in my monthly bill, if it appears at all.

Update, I got an email saying the promotion has been applied to my account. So I guess it worked.
