My iPhone screen sensor started going crazy lately so got a 6+ from a friend that wasn’t being used. It was actually his moms old phone and apparently wasn’t restored to factory settings. I found a workaround online to to restore the phone without password and is now like a new phone but it is still connected to find my iPhone. Is there any workarounds for this? I don’t want to have to get my friend to ask his mom to go into her iCloud account and delete if I don’t have to

Can't you just reset it to factory and then sign in to your Apple ID?

No he didn’t steal it just didn’t want to ask him to have to ask his mom. I reset it to factory but when you go to set up it still shows her account and wants you to log in to remove from find my iPhone.

you have to have her deactivate it. that's the main thing iphone buyers require when you are selling an old one.

Are you on a different provider? When I've sold phones or given them away before I had to go through AT&T website and request that it be "unlocked." Also, the DFU restore mode may work in your case.
