After using it for a couple hours last night, I like the effect it brings. We built that fireplace last year for a 65" TV. I had been considering how a 75" would look there but I think this solves both issues.
I just wish the Hue Sync app and the Hue app were a single app.

Bumping this thread to ask CAD or anyone else if they’ve used the HUE play light bars? Was thinking of sticking one behind my tv on the patio. Doesn’t have to be perfectly in sync with the tv or anything

I've recently built my own one using Hyperion and it works flawlessly. I've got roughly $100 in it and that includes a new Raspberry pi (which I didn't use, I recycled an old one) and a HDMI switch.
$15 4M 30 LED/M Individually addressable LEDs
$16 HDMI Switch
$6 SD Card
$15 5V 50W Power Supply
$35 Raspberry Pi
$20 $k video capture card
The only issue is the "automatic" HDMI switch isn't as automatic as I would like. So I'm going to build a IR repeater/blaster using esp8266 nodemcu that interfaces with alexa so I can change the inputs verbally.
