If OP lets the kid jailbreak the phone, or download whatever apps they want, tips to defeat Life360 are all over YouTube, easily digestible by kids that aren't even driving age yet. Apps don't help if parents don't implement inconvenient things like requiring permission to install apps, etc.

That's what we do with family link. If I'm using for it, I'm controlling it. And they don't need any of that stupid shite. Mine have never had insta, YouTube, snap crap, any of the social apps and it didn't take them long to get over that. They don't care now, stopped asking a long time ago. And no they're not just sneaking it, we check the phones now and then.

That's covered in the "Break one rule, any rule..."

If the kid screws up and doesn't get caught, he's lucky. If he gets caught, or is evasive or otherwise non-compliant, that's enough. Just like the real world.
