I'm new to torrents and haven't downloaded any yet but thinking about trying it. When you download from a public tracker do you use a VPN? I have IPvanish on my firestick but not on anything else. Do you use a VPN on whichever computer you're downloading the torrents to. I have an old MacBook that I cant put IPvanish on but I'm thinking about putting it on my wifi router.

Yes, best practice is you should. I get lazy sometimes and don't but my provider doesn't seem to care too much. Just have to make sure you port forward in their app.
